How It All Started
When Julie Hall founded the practice in Leighton Buzzard in 2001, her idea was refreshingly simple. Accountancy didn't have to be cold, impersonal or intimidating. Too many people dreaded speaking to their accountant. Too many felt talked down to, ignored or left in the dark about their own finances.
Julie set out to build something different. A practice where clients felt genuinely looked after. Where the phone was always answered by a real person. Where advice was given in plain English, not buried in jargon. Where every business owner — from sole traders to growing companies — was treated with the same care and respect.
More than twenty years later, that ethos hasn't changed.
Today, under the leadership of Managing Director Simon Roberts, Fouracre has grown, adapted and embraced modern cloud accounting technology. We've expanded our team and our expertise. But at our core, we're still the same family-run practice that believes in doing things properly, treating people well, and going the extra mile — even when no one's watching.

Julie Hall founded Fouracre Accountancy with a simple mission: to provide honest, reliable accountancy services with a personal touch. What started as a small family practice in Leighton Buzzard quickly grew through word-of-mouth and trusted relationships.

As our client base expanded across Bedfordshire and beyond, we invested in our team and technology — but never lost the personal, family-first approach that made us different from the big firms.
A Decade of Trust
By our tenth year, many of our original clients were still with us. That loyalty reinforced our belief that accountancy is about relationships, not just numbers. We became a part of our clients' businesses.
